Important Safety Information

What Is GLP-1 & GLP-1/GIP Therapy?

GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP therapies are prescription medications used to support appetite regulation and metabolic function as part of a structured weight management program. These therapies work with hormone pathways involved in hunger signaling and feelings of fullness.

At Alorah Wellness, compounded GLP-1 medications containing semaglutide or tirzepatide may be prescribed through a secure telehealth process following review by a licensed provider. Your provider evaluates your medical history, symptoms, and relevant clinical information to determine whether treatment may be appropriate.

If prescribed, your provider will oversee your care and make adjustments when medically appropriate.

Important Safety Information

GLP-1 medications are prescription treatments and are not appropriate for everyone. Eligibility is determined by a licensed provider following review of your medical history.

Do not use GLP-1 therapy if you or a family member have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

In animal studies, certain GLP-1 medications caused thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown whether this risk applies to humans. Contact your provider if you experience neck swelling, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath.

GLP-1 therapy may cause gastrointestinal side effects including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or abdominal pain. More serious risks may include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, hypoglycemia (especially in patients using insulin or certain diabetes medications), kidney complications, increased heart rate, or allergic reactions.
